Nice, beautiful weekend

We had a great Memorial Day weekend, lots of nice warm weather. Friday started out with the pouring of our new concrete patio. The concrete truck showed up at 7:30am and soon after the guys were hard at work. Our neighbor Doug and Lee were a tremendous help, we didn't hire a concrete pump so the guys did the old fashioned way...with wheelbarrows and lots of muscle! Plus the truck couldn't back up nearly as close as we thought he could because of the fence but it all worked out.

It's so nice to have one level surface for the patio. And to not have dirt everywhere! And while they were working, Porter hung out with Nana since I had to go to the dentist and get my temporary crown.....oh what fun! I should get my permanent one this Friday so I will be glad when this is all done. Thank you Lee and Sheri for helping out!!!

On Saturday, we hung around the house and did some yard work, Sam sealed the concrete and we planted more tomatoes since one night last week it go below 30 and our other plants didn't make it...darn it! Oh well, hopefully the new ones will do good. All the while, Porter just roamed the yard....here he is awfully grumpy at one point.....

now a happy face.....

On Sunday, we headed up to Prineville Reservoir and had a BBQ with some friends of Sam's parents. We had a wonderful time and of course had great food. Lots of kids and toys for Porter to check out.....thank you to the Maroney's for inviting us!

Porter and nana having a good time

Porter playing in the play yard....notice the scratch below his nose.....he was running in the gravel and tried to slow down but instead fell over and did a face plant in the gravel.... his poor little nose is all scratched up too.....

A picture with Brian Maroney.....they both had the same shorts on so we had to take a snapshot

And then on Monday, we had our neighbors Doug and Amy over for a crab feed to say thanks for helping with the new patio and had a great time.

Now it's back to work for Sam after having 4 days off, which was SO nice for Porter and I but probably not so for him since he is pretty darn busy this morning. Sam will be busy with "dad duty" this week since I'm taking an infant 1st Aid and CPR class which is both tonight and tomorrow night and then on Friday I have a dinner for the mom's group. And then it's the weekend again....

I think that about covers it all. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Glad to see you are taking a few breaks in between all the backyard renovation :) Sounds like you had a good Memorial Day weekend. Hope the CPR and 1st aid class goes well. With all Porter's bumps and bruises I bet you will use the 1st aid a lot!

The patio looks great!!! What a nice place to hang out and relax, have a bar-b-que, etc! Wish we could have been there for the visit to Prineville... but sometime we will make it!!! lol
That's cool that Porter got his little handprints in the concrete! He seems like such a little adventurer!
