Porter's dr appt

We just got back from Porter's dr. appt and he's doing really good! He weighs 17lbs 11oz and he is 28 inches long! We thought he would weigh more.... and didn't think he was that tall. He has grown 6 1/2 inches since he was born, crazy! No wonder he's in 9 months clothes. All in all, they said he's very healthy and should be getting his 2 bottom teeth anytime now. The shots were no fun but the nurse was so quick he didn't even know what hit him.
Porter has been having some issues lately with anybody holding him except Sam and I....so I asked the dr. if that is normal and she said yes. She said some babies between 4-6 months develop stranger anxiety but eventually he will grow out of it.....good news Sheri! Porter didn't want anything to do with his Nana last weekend, I thought that maybe Porter was just "pushing her buttons" like his dad does....LOL.

Kicking back on the weekend

Hello! Not much going on this week, just the usual housework and such (fun, fun!) Sam got off work early yesterday so we headed up to the Central Oregon Airshow in Madras. It has some cool planes, old and new on display to look at. There was a show too but it wasn't going to start until 7:30 which is usually when Porter gets ready for bed and then it would have been another hour home so we didn't stay.

I mowed the yard this morning while Sam did some things on the house. Then he got to crawl under the house to replace the spicket on the front of the house (he had to crawl the whole length of the house!) and when he got there realized the new one he bought was a lot longer than the old one that was leaking......needless to say he was NOT happy! So the new one sticks out a little....and it will probably stay that way for awhile......LOL.

Porter has a dr. appt on Tuesday so we are curious to see how much he weighs. It's his 4 month check up but they were a little booked so he is a little behind on his shots. He turned 5 months old the other day, I can't believe it.... time flies when you're having fun.

I joined a MOMS group this week which I think will be very fun. They are having a big birthday party on Thursday and it sounds like there are lots of moms with babies around the same age as Porter so I'm really looking forward to that.

I'll leave off with a few pictures (of course) I was eating a strawberry and Porter was just eyeballing it so I let him suck on it a little bit....he really liked it! Anyway, here ya go...

and of couse we had pink drool dripping down.....LOL
and when I wiped his face, I realize I probably waited too long cuz it was stained a little reddish/pink....oh well, you gotta have pictures.....LOL

Holy Hotness!

Whoa, has it been hot here the last few days!! On Friday it was 100, Saturday the heat pump said 109 while the thermometer in the shade said 101 and yesterday it was 98! The A/C kicked on at 9:30am yesterday and didn't shut off until this morning. Now we have thunder and lightning and rain which is cooling everything down thank goodness. We got the majority of painting done on the rental on Friday and then went back on Sat to finish the trim, luckily we got done before it got too hot. Thank you to Lee and Sheri for helping! Although Sheri had a little tumble, she was a trooper.....hopefully her elbow is feeling better. :-) I tried putting Porter in the Baby Bjorn while I painted but it didn't work so well, he kept grabbing the paint brush to help. I didn't have my camera darn it. All in all, we are glad it is done.

That's about it for now. Of course I have a picture to post.....LOL. Porter has been doing so good sitting in the little bumbo chair.....

And here is a little video too..... Porter has this little green bug that when you pull it apart, it vibrates back together.....well, I was holding it in one hand and realized if I held the tail and kind of threw it, it would stretch apart and then vibrate back together.....well Porter thought it was the funniest darn thing......he has such a cute giggle.....
