HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!

Wow, the heat wave is definitely here! It was 98 yesterday, supposed to be 98 today and the same the next few days. Our heat pump decided to take crap on us a few weeks ago so we decided to buy a new one. They were here last week - Monday to install a new fan but the parts house didn't order the part, back on Tuesday to install the new parts but it wasn't getting cold so back on Wednesday to swap out the thermostat and that did the trick - the A/C is nice and cold! Other than a Costco and grocery store run, we didn't do much last week, just stayed indoors to stay cool.

On Friday, the boys and I loaded up and headed to Roseburg for the weekend. The trip over was uneventful, only stopped once to feed Wyatt. Once we got to my mom's, my friend Jennifer and her little one Carter stopped by to stay hi. Carter has a mohawk and it's so darn cute!!!! Thanks Jen for visiting with us! (just a note: we're all thinking pink thoughts for Jen, they find out in 2 weeks if it's a boy or girl...woo hoo)

and my cousin stopped by with his little one Layton, who just turned 1 and they were in town to get Layton's 1st haircut. He's such a smiley little guy, just like his daddy! Thanks Jared for stopping by to visit too!

Zoey was so sweet to Wyatt - she loved to give him hugs and kisses. She said to me "you hold him up and put his arms out so I can hug him" It was so darn cute, she gave him a big hug. She loved to hold him too.

Her and Porter had a great time playing too. She is so sweet to him, always trying to play and include him, she is a great cousin!

My mom had a great time too I think. She had all her grankids under one roof...LOL.

Wyatt got lots of lovin' from everyone else too, I think he got too spoiled being held by everyone.

Wyatt and Gram

It was a pretty quick trip, our next trip we will try to catch up with everyone. Sam has this thing about us being out of town, it's like he misses us or something.....LOL. Our trip home was a little long....had to stop and feed Wyatt about Diamond Lake and then stopped in Chemult to grab some lunch for Porter. Well we I grabbed him to get him out, he felt all wet, he had a blowout....so we got him all cleaned up and changed his clothes We got something to eat, then fed Wyatt again and headed towards Bend. As we were going thru LaPine, Porter is grabbing at his feet and has this sour look on his face and is screaming..........so I look between his legs and realize he has had another blow out, it's coming out the sides of his diaper and I see that he has poo on his face because he is reaching down and picking it up and trying to eat it....so gross. So we pull over and get him all cleaned up and changed again. (and got him a drink to wash the awful taste out of his mouth....LOL) So all in all, it took us a little over 4 hours to get home when it usually only takes 3. It was a long ride for everyone but we made it. We will be headed over again the end of August since my aunt from South Carolina will be visiting.

Wyatt has his 6 week check up on Friday so I'm curious to see how much he weighs this time. He's quite the little eater, seems like he eats non stop. On Saturday, Porter and I have a Diaper Daredevil class that I signed us up for. It sounds like it should be lots of fun, from 10:15-11am for 4 Saturdays. They have an obstacle course for the little ones and fun things that involve parents too.

I had a dr. appt this morning and everything is good. We were headed to storytime at the library but Porter just couldn't make it and zonked in the car. I'm waiting for him to wake up so we can head over to Melinda's house (my ex-boss) for lunch. I'm looking forward to catching up with her.

Everyone have a great rest of the week!

Still slacking.....

Ok, so updating the blog has been put on the back burner lately, before it seems so easy and to not take very long but now it seems to take forever. I tried earlier this morning but Wyatt woke up crying and then after settling him, Porter woke up and so on and so on.

Good news is everyone is doing great.....thank goodness. We had a little mishap last week and I thought I had given Wyatt permanent brain damage.....last Wed. I decided since it was hot it would be a nice treat to take Drake to the river. So once we arrived, I put Wyatt in the BabyBjorn so thus giving me 2 free hands, 1 for Porter and 1 for Drake. Well, when Drake is around water and other dogs, he doesn't listen and just wants to play, and this is the way he's always been.....but I hoped maybe I could control the situation along with 2 little ones....boy was I wrong!! The river where we were has a little ledge and then the water.....well, I had Porter by the hand when I finally got Drake leashed up and was turning to leave but just at that moment Drake saw a guy throw his ball for his dog and Drake took off......and I didn't let go of the leash in time. I got pulled off the ledge and tried to catch myself to no avail.....I fell down and landed on my side but then fell forward and Wyatt's head got scratched and pulled Porter down with me. I got them out of the water and was trying to calm both of them down all the while trying to catch my composure......it was not pretty. We got back to the car and I called the pediatrician's office right away to see if I could have them look at Wyatt. (Porter was ok, just a little scratched up on his leg and back) So I headed to the dr. and I can just imagine how I looked, I was soaking wet, Porter was soaking wet and Wyatt's head all scratched up. Thankfully, Wyatt was fine, just a few superficial scratches. I look back now and realize it was such a stupid thing to try and do, it was just too much for only 1 person with just 2 hands. I'm so thankful both my boys are ok.

While we were at the dr. they weighed Wyatt and the little chunky monkey weighed in at 9lbs 15oz!! He loves to eat like his brother for sure. It's funny that at 4 weeks old he only weighs 9 oz less than Porter did at birth....LOL.

On Thursday, we had a much better day. Lee and Sheri were at the lake for the week so we headed up there for the day. Porter had such a GREAT time hanging with them and playing in the water.

At 1st he wasn't too sure about the water so Grandpa was holding him telling him it was ok

Nana got down and played with him in the water too

Having fun with his bucket

and once he played for awhile, he would take his bucket, dunk it in the water and then pour it on himself.

Nana and Grandpa were playing with him and Grandpa would fill up his bucket and Porter thought it was funny to pour it on Nana.....it was pretty darn cute to watch them

Wyatt with mommy

Once we were done, we went over to the grass and stripped Porter naked....which he thought was very cool! and then he decided he wanted to wear my sunglasses...

We had a great time and will definitely be doing that again soon! I was able to snap a picture of Porter and Wyatt.....I realized I did not have any yet. This one was from last week

and one last one of chunky monkey Wyatt.....he has filled out for sure! Getting the chubby little cheeks and round belly....but his arms and legs are still pretty gangly looking...

I have a video of Porter giving Wyatt kisses that I will post later.

I'm a slacker......

Ok, so I've been a real slacker on the blog.....I apologize, time seems to be passing at warp speed. I'm remembering now how time consuming the whole breastfeeding business is, between that and feeding Porter, changing twice the diapers and getting a little housework done, the day is over. Let's see if I can remember what has transpired the last 2 weeks.....

Nana and Grandpa came for a visit and brought pizza (thank you!)

Then the Sunday (before the 4th) my dad came over for a couple of days to visit. I think he thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with his little buddy Porter, they got along pretty darn good.

Last Wednesday, Wyatt had his 2 week checkup and all was great! He weighed 8lbs 5oz (he gained a pound in 9 days) and measured 22 in (grew 1.5 in.) He has officially grown out of newborn sizes already and has developed a little potbelly.....which looks very funny since his arms and legs are very long and skinny. He got his 1st bathtub bath the other night which he seemed to really enjoy. It's amazing even in the last week how much more alert Wyatt seems to be. His eyes are more open and now doesn't seem to look through me like before. He loves his naps, it's so cute the poses he comes up with while sleeping....

Life is so rough......
How this for a pose?

Pondering life.....

And now he is done with pictures, notice him flipping me the bird....LOL

Porter is so sweet to Wyatt, he loves to give him kisses. But unfortunately he's in the "doesn't want his picture taken" phase and most of the time he's too darn quick to get away. I was able to snap this one but as you can see by his expression, he is not amused....

We stayed home for the 4th. Went downtown for the pet parade and Sam made carne asade over the fire pit. We set off some fireworks for Porter, he wasn't quite sure what to think, he definitely didn't like the noisy ones. We were able to see the firework show from the upstairs so we watched that for about 10 minutes and then went to bed. We are such party animals these days....LOL.

No major plans for this week. The weather is supposed to be very mild, only in the 70's for most of the week which is a nice break from the mid 90's we had over the weekend. Our garden has just grown like crazy , we have harvested some of the buttercrunch lettuce and the tomato plants are doing very well, one has like 14 tomatoes.....and the corn is growing like a weed too...
The corn is on the left and the tomato plants are on the right...

Some more tomato plants and pepper plants on the left, onions in the middle, lettuce to the right of that and carrots on the right.

I guess that's probably enough pictures for now. I will try and be more with it and update more often.
Everyone take care!
