Sitting up

Porter just seems to change day by day - he is getting pretty good at sitting up by himself (leaned against the back of the couch) but then slowly he starts leaning, leaning and then has a face full of couch. I love this picture.....

Lately he's been doing better with tummy time....it got to a point that as soon as you put him down, he would scream bloody murder. Now he's gotten pretty good and stays about 5 minutes a couple times a day. Sometimes he rolls over. Most of the time if he is on the floor, Drake is always right by......

Not much going on this week. We've had thunder and lightning storms the last 2 days along with some rain...the rain is actually nice, cools everything down a bit and it smells so nice.

We have to go paint the exterior of one of the rentals this weekend, doesn't that sound like tons of fun? I'm sure Sam will do most of it, Porter and I will go and supervise....LOL.
Everyone take care and have a great weekend!

Porter Jumparoo'in!

I had to share this video of Porter in his jumparoo - he has recently caught on to the fact that it bounces a lot if he jumps. It's so funny when he gets going - he bounces from one foot to the other almost like he is tap dancing. Enjoy!

Been awhile......

Sorry, it's been awhile since my last post. I was busy getting ready for the garage sale Sheri and I had. We had a great time, made some money and got rid of a whole lot of stuff! We had a guy come pick up most of the stuff that was left and what he didn't take, it got hauled to Goodwill. Now my next project is to organize the garage a little more so maybe I can park in it this winter. Although the garage is pretty organized already, my mom was here for an hour and had in order. Her, my sister and Zoey came to visit over the weekend too. Zoey played outside with her little friend Marcus and needless to say, she was brown by the end of the day cuz she was so dirty!! My sister got some pics but I didn't download before she left, darn it!
They all left on Sunday and then my dad got here Sunday afternoon and left this morning. Had a great time with him, it was so great having so much family visiting me.

Today I took Porter to Sears and got pictures done. He had just woke up from a nap and was all smiley so I thought they would get some great pictures. No, that was not the case. As soon as she started taking pictures, he was not happy! She did get a few that turned out good but that's it. Here they are.....

I have book club tomorrow and then we have a duplex to clean over the weekend which is always loads of fun!

That's about it for now. Thank you mom, Penny, Zoey and Dad for visiting me!! Love you.

Congrats to Jared and Brooke!

A big congratulations to my cousin Jared and his wife Brooke - they welcomed their baby boy, Layton Thomas on July 19th. He weighed 8lbs 1oz and was 21 inches long. I think big healthy babies must run in the family!! Baby and mama are doing good (she made it through all natural, poor girl!) We love you guys!

Video of Porter eating

I took this video of Porter eating while we were camping and thought I would share. He's so funny when he gets a bite, he smacks his jaw up and down, almost like he is chewing.
Enjoy!

It's been awhile......

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I posted last, we've been on the go the last 2 weekends. We had a GREAT 4th of July up at Prineville Reservoir. We visited with Nana and Grandpa and their friends The Maroney's. Lots of kids, babies, good food and great weather. Here is a picture of me, Sam and Porter with the Maroney clan (from the left): Steven Maroney and his new baby son Aiden, his wife Amy next to him with their other son Quinn, Brian Maroney is peeking out behind Amy, next to me is Kim with her little girl Maren and in front is Nathan Maroney (Kim's husband) with their other little girl Audra.
Zoey had fun playing with Audra. We got home on Sunday and my sister and Zoey stayed another night before heading home. It was great, as always, spending time with them.

I then got everything ready to host book club on Thursday. The book I picked wasn't all that great, so the discussion was short and sweet.

While I had book club, Sam started loading up the pick up for us to leave on Friday morning for our 1st camping trip with Porter. We camped right outside Biggs at a campsite on the Deschutes River. We got there Friday afternoon and we got lucky with the campsite, we were right under a huge willow tree that provided us with a lot of shade. Mike, Jade and Dalton got there a little while after us on Friday. We set up camp and then relaxed before making dinner.

Porter giving smiles saying he's having fun camping......LOL

Here he is just hanging out and relaxing in the camp chair after his bath.....

Our kitchen we got from Cabela's worked out so good, we realized the sink that came with it was the perfect size to give Porter a bath since they didn't have showers. Mike and Jade have a hot water dispenser so it worked out really well. They also have a portable shower tent they set up and the hot water thing has a shower head so it was SO nice to have a shower readily available.

On Saturday the boys went out fishing while us girls slept in. Mike got a fish but we didn't see anyone else getting much. The boys came back and we all had breakfast and then went back out. Porter got to wear his new lifejacket......

He didn't seem to mind it at first but after a few hours he wanted out of it. On Sunday, we all went fishing again and while Sam was holding Porter and the life jacket was kind of up around his head and face but he didn't mind cuz he fell asleep and stayed that way for almost 3 hours! Some pictures from the boat.....

Porter started eating baby good last week too. I mix a little with his cereal in the morning and so far he's liking peaches and applesauce but didn't care for bananas. He's been making really funny faces lately too.....this weekend, he started doing this thing with his neck and stretches it way up and then he's been making this pucker face too.....it's so cute.....

I think all in all he really enjoyed his 1st camping trip. Drake of course enjoyed himself, he spent a lot of time swimming. On the way home, I had to get a picture of Drake, he was sleeping with his head and paw on the side of Porter's carseat, it was so cute....

We all had a really great time but I'm glad to be home. I've got to get ready for the garage sale that Sheri and I are having the last weekend of the month. I hopefully then can organize the mess we call the garage.

Have a great week!

Happy 4th of July!

Hello! Hope everyone is getting geared up for a great 4th of July! We are getting packed up this afternoon and heading out to Prineville Reservoir for the weekend to stay with Lee and Sheri (Nana and Grandpa) They also have some friends Eric and Sondra that have a house up there and their kids and grandkids are coming and my sister and Zoey are coming as well so there should be lots of kids and babies and good times!!! Sam is going to smoke his famous ribs and Sheri and Sondra will be cooking so we will of course have lots of good eats to boot!

It started out the weather was to be in the high 80's/low 90's but in the last day or two, it has been slowly dropping...now supposed to be high 70's to mid 80's which is just fine with me. It has been at least 95 for the past couple of days and that is just too hot to be outside. Porter, Drake and I usually go for a walk early in the morning by the river and of course I can't keep Drake out of the water, he loves it! He is jealous of Riley's new pool (see Lee and Sheri's blog)

Not much going on here this week, just trying to keep cool in the afternoon....thank goodnes for AC! We are loving the new heat pump for sure.

Lately Porter REALLY hates to be put on his tummy for tummy time, as soon as you put him down he screams. So I put him on the boppy pillow just to see and he didn't seem to mind it so here are a couple of pics of him. He looks like such a big boy holding himself up. He is really into his hands and now will reach for toys that I put in front of him. It takes him a few times to hit the mark but he is doing really good. And of course once he reaches it, it goes directly into the mouth.

Everyone take care and have a safe and happy 4th!
