Porter has a tooth!

Well, after weeks of thinking we felt a bottom tooth coming in, it has finally made an appearance. After many nights of waking up numerous times, we can hope that maybe this is the reason and now will be over.... I doubt it but we can hope! :-) He doesn't let me look too much but from what I can see, there is one and you can feel the sharp edges with your finger. We'll see if he decides to test it out on mom....LOL.

Porter and I went to Roseburg over the weekend to visit. We had a great time as always but Porter has now given my Gram (grandma) a complex, he did not want her holding him or even trying to play with him. I'm not sure what the deal is, he loved my mom and sister and had no problem with them holding him. Gram - I'm sure it's something he'll get over, Sam and I still love you, Sam says just keep on making your rolls and he won't have a problem with you.....LOL.

Here is Porter with one of Zoey's dolls....we thought it kind of looked like him.....

The doll became his buddy (notice his arm around it)........but don't tell his daddy.....LOL

And Porter has now found his tongue......

One of Porter and Zoey.....
On Sunday when we got home, Sam had to truck and boat waiting so we loaded up and drove out to Powderhouse Cove on the back side of Prineville Reservoir. We took the boat out for our 1st spin and we didn't sink! That's always a good thing, my honey has done a great job redoing the boat. Sam did some fishing, he didn't catch anything but we had a great time. Porter doesn't mind his lifejacket and when we were heading in to load up, he even fell asleep.

Porter in the boat.....
I think he's saying "Ooh, I love the boat, this is so much fun!!"

After getting in the water and swimming a little, this is what Drake thought of the whole outing..
My honey doing some fishing.......

And the captain navigating the boat....he just loves his picture taken as you can tell.....
I didn't have a hat for Porter so he made do with daddy's......

That's about it for now. We are getting all packed this week and headed to Seaside on Friday for the weekend. The weather isn't supposed to be too nice over there but it will be our 1st real family outing by ourselves so it should be lots of fun! Drake unfortunately can't come since the hotel doesn't allow pets but he is going to stay with Nana, Grandpa and Riley so he will be just fine.
Everyone have a great week! Take care.

Porter trying a lime..

I had to post this video I took of Porter. I was cutting up some lime and thought I would have him try it.... I know, it's mean but they always make the funniest "sour" faces. He seemed to actually like it a little bit...... enjoy

Congratulations Sinning family

Congratulations to the Sinning family on their new addition! Laney Sinning was born Tues. 9/23 (on her exact due date) She weighed 9lbs 7oz and was 20 inches. Laney is sleeping and eating well; Meghan, Ryan and big sister Savanah are great! Here are some pictures...

6 months old!

Porter is officially 6 months old! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by, before we know it he will be a year old. He has had a lot of 1st's this week - he had his 1st piece of toast, had a graham cracker for the 1st time and on Saturday, went on his 1st trip to cut wood. I'm sure out of all of them, he had the most fun cutting wood! (LOL) He was actually really good while we were cutting it, I had to pick him up a few times but I needed a break anyway. (I now have a great excuse!!)

On Wednesday, we went and visited Sheri (Nana) for the day. Porter is still thinking it's funny to give her a hard time and cry when she holds him. Again, I think he is a lot like his father when it comes to pushing her buttons. While we were there, Lee (Grandpa) got home from fishing so Porter got to see him too. He had been fishing a few weeks up in Sandy, only got like 4 but he was going to head back again over the weekend. While he was up in Sandy, Sam found a motor for our boat and Lee was nice enough to go pick it up for us (thank you Lee!)

Sam hadn't been feeling well this week, got the stuffed up nose and sore throat, well by Thursday I had it and as of Saturday night, Porter got it too. His poor little nose is so plugged up and just running.....and of course, he HATES to get it wiped. I have some little saline drops I've been using and that seems to help, but as of last night he has a nasty little cough so we are going to get him some cough stuff. Saturday night he was up like every 1 to 1 1/2 hours but last night he was only up twice.

Saturday night we went to a bar-b-q and had a great time. It was hosted by one of the gals I met thru the moms group and we all met each others husbands. I had a mojito for the 1st time, can you say yummy! It was really good.

Yesterday we just hung out while Sam worked on the boat. He's doing a great job with it, I'll take some pictures this week and post them. He is thinking we may be able to take it out next weekend and make sure it doesn't sink....LOL.

That's about it for now. Here are some pictures from the week......

1st piece of toast

One night while making dinner I decided to give him a graham cracker to keep him occupied, well, he LOVED it! He took a few bites and I said to him "is that a yummy graham cracker?" and this was his response......

Here he is hanging on the couch with daddy.......he was perfectly content just playing with Sam's zipper......

Lastly, I have to give a shout out to Rhonda, who has done such a WONDERFUL job keeping her blog updated. She has posted like 10 times in the last 2 weeks....I knew if I bugged her enough she would do it!! LOL. Thank you for sharing all the pictures.

That's it for now. Take care!

Big boy!

Hello! Hope all is well with everyone. Not too much going on this week. Monday I took Drake to the vet - he's been whining when trying to jump into my car or Sam's truck, they could find anything wrong. Gave me some pain meds and said just have him try not to jump for the next week and see what happens. Could be he's just getting older and labs sometimes have trouble with their hips. We still walk to butte a couple days of week and it doesn't seem to bother him.

On Tuesday we had the insulators come and insulate Sam's shop so he can stay nice and toasty warm out there this winter with his wood stove and we had them insulate the garage in hopes of keeping my washing machine from freezing up like it has the past 2 winters.... we'll see.

Of course, have to post some pictures too! LOL. The last couple of nights for Porter's bath, I put this little bath chair in the tub so he can sit up and play with his toys, he seems to really like it.

And he's finally gotten big enough to sit in his high chair when he eats.... and man does he like to eat lately! He ate 1/4 of a jar of ham and rice dinner and a whole jar of apples and blueberries for dinner last night. He loves the baby yogurt I bought so he is getting to try a bunch of new foods.

And lately I carry him out into the garage while I change over the laundry.....so when I unloaded the dryer into the clothes basket, I thought to have 2 free hands I'll just put him on top of the laundry....oh, he thought it was pretty cool! He stayed that way while I started another load and carried him into the house that way and he was just pretty kick back hanging out in the basket..... although he is almost too big for it!

That's about it for now. We are going to walk to the butte tomorrow with one of the gals from the MOMS group I met, Angie and her little guy Konrad.

On Friday, Sheri's back in town and is going to come and visit. She needs some "nana" time with Porter. She may stay over so on Saturday she can stay with Porter while I get a massage unless Sam wants some "man" time with the boy....LOL. The massage is going to be 90 minutes so by the time I leave and get back, it will probably be 2 hours..... I know, I'm freakin' out about leaving Porter for that long but I know I need to start sometime....we'll see how I do. :-)

Take care and everyone have a great week!

Porter is a Ro-lee Po-lee bug

I don't know why the date says this is Monday, September 1st, it's Thursday 9/4....weird.

Anyway, a few days ago Porter learned to roll from his back to his tummy, yahoo! Now, as of yesterday he now rolls from his back.... to his tummy.... to his back.... to his tummy like a little Ro-lee Po-lee bug. I put him down on the floor on a blanket and the next time I look he was over by the fireplace. So I of course had to get my camera to catch it and I did!! A few rolls anyway..... so I thought I would share. I know now he's gonna be on a roll and this is just the beginning.....LOL. Sam said he also got up on his knees so I think he's getting ready to take off!

And I ended up getting a pic of Porter and I that I thought turned out pretty cute......

That's about it for now, have a great day!

Cold spell....

Wow, the week has flown by! On Thursday, Porter and I went to a get together at the park thru the MOMS group and we had a great time. Porter just loved watching all the kids play and we met a couple of other mothers with boys right around the same age as Porter. All the kids that attended got cute little backpacks with sunglasses inside......Porter's were a little big but when I put them on him, he didn't seem to mind at all, he just went on playing as usual.....
On Saturday, we cleaned yet another rental but this one wasn't all that bad. The tenant had only been there 2 months so it was a piece of cake. But Sheri we missed you, hope you are having fun. (she is in Canada on a girls trip with her friends) Now comes the fun of finding a new tenant.....oh boy.

On Sunday, we had our neighbors over for a get together. All the guys have really been into smoking meats so our one neighbor Tom smoked a beef brisket, Sam smoked some ribs and our other neighbor Doug smoked some salmon and some shrimp. We had tons of good food and good times, we are very lucky to have such great neighbors on both sides of us. There ended up being like 16 of us with everyone's families so after we all ate, we were all freezing cold cuz after the sun went down, it dropped to about 54 degrees so we headed over to Doug and Amy's for a bonfire. It was nice and toasty warm! A picture from around the fire...
Porter in his cute little hat........it's actually the only hat I could find to fit his big head!!

And I got a nice visit from my brother, sister and Zoey too! Patrick flew up on Friday to visit for the weekend in Roseburg but they decided to come over on Sunday so it was very nice to see them!!! Porter did really good with both Penny and Patrick, he didn't cry when they held him and he just loves watching Zoey. Zoey had a great time playing with her little friend Marcus again, they have so much fun. (Marcus is our neighbor Doug's grandson)

Here are some pictures of Porter with his Uncle Patrick.......

And I have finally got a family picture of Porter, Sam and I. It's one of the only 2 that I have so I was very excited to have someone else taking pictures....(my husband isn't too fond of having his photo taken)

And I also got one of just Porter and I, which I don't have many of either......
And then I also finally got Drake to lie still while I got one of him and Porter......

Today I thought I would try Porter with some yogurt to see if he liked it, well yes he did and he decided that he would just feed it to himself....

Here's a picture of Zoey too.....she used to love getting her picture taken and she would smile, but that is not the case now. We're lucky if she sits still long enough......

Here is a picture of Zoey and Marcus the last time she was over. They were playing in the dirt and throwing it at each other.....but they had such a great time....

I had to post this picture of her too......my sister took this of her. She was sitting in one of the rubbermaid tubs....... My brother and sister left this morning and Sam went fishing at the mouth of the Deschutes with his friend Mike. Sadly, he didn't catch anything but him and Drake had a good time.

That's about our week in a nutshell. Not much going on this week so I'm probably post again this weekend. Hope everyone had a safe Labor Day weekend.

Take care!
